Richard and Andrea Traunero received the 2026 Franciscan Partnership Award presented by the Sisters of St. Francis.

Richard and Andrea have faithfully and compassionately served the Sisters of St. Francis, especially at the time of a Sister’s death. In their role as funeral directors, they provide care marked by deep reverence for the deceased and genuine compassion for those who mourn. Their calm presence, attention to detail, and thoughtful guidance bring comfort, dignity, and peace during moments of profound loss, ensuring that each Sister is honored with respect and love.

Reflecting the Franciscan commitment to care for creation and uphold the dignity of life, Richard has conducted extensive research on green burial practices to help the Sisters make informed, mission-aligned decisions. He also volunteers as a pilot providing free medical transportation throughout the Midwest for individuals in need of specialized care. Andrea often accompanies him on these flights, sharing in this ministry of compassion and service to the most vulnerable.

For nearly 25 years, Richard served on the St. Francis Spirituality Center Development Committee, helping strengthen its outreach, visibility, and financial stability so it could better serve individuals and families seeking spiritual growth. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrea demonstrated remarkable leadership by organizing volunteers to sew masks to protect those most at risk, a ministry rooted in generosity and care for others.

Since 1997, Andrea and Richard have served as the Sisters’ funeral directors with unwavering dedication. Through decades of faithful service, they exemplify partnership, stewardship, and loving care, leaving a lasting and meaningful impact on the Sisters of St. Francis and the wider community they serve.

Ann Seyer was the recipient of the 2026 Franciscan Partnership Award from St. Francis Senior Ministries.

Ann established a Parkinson’s Support Group on the grounds of St. Francis to provide care, encouragement, and community for individuals supporting loved ones living with this disease. By graciously hosting the group at her villa, she created a welcoming and compassionate environment where understanding, dignity, and mutual support flourish.

Ann’s husband was once a resident of St. Francis Home, and during that time she began volunteering in the Activities Department. Following his passing, Ann chose to continue her service to St. Francis Home, demonstrating a profound commitment to the mission and values of the Franciscan community. She is widely recognized for her kindness, compassion, and gentle presence, bringing comfort and joy to all whom she encounters.

Ann consistently responds to the needs of St. Francis Home with generosity and dedication. She is always willing to assist without hesitation and frequently goes above and beyond by offering additional hours and days of service when needed. The residents hold a special place in her heart, and she is deeply committed to ensuring they experience the fullness of care, engagement, and dignity that St. Francis strives to provide. Through her selfless service, Ann finds joy in helping others and embodies the spirit of Franciscan partnership in all that she does.

Deb Weaver was awarded the 2026 Franciscan Partnership Award presented by the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center.

Deb is a generous and dedicated individual who brings her full heart and energy to every role she undertakes. In addition to her many contributions to the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, she remains active as a substitute teacher at Hopewell-Loudon School, where she faithfully served for many years as an educator and mentor to countless students. She also volunteers with the school’s Athletic Boosters program, working diligently behind the scenes to ensure students, teams, and activities receive the support they need to thrive. Though retired from full-time teaching, Deb continues to serve her community with remarkable commitment, generosity, and enthusiasm.

As FELC’s Field Trip Coordinator and Educator, Deb has revitalized the program through the development of engaging curriculum and by strengthening relationships with local teachers—many of whom she has known through her years in education. Her efforts have significantly expanded the Center’s reach and impact. She carefully organizes and maintains educational materials, prepares learning environments before programs, tends animal habitats, and attends to countless details that ensure each visit is meaningful, welcoming, and successful. Her passion for education and care for creation is evident in every aspect of her work.

Deb has devoted countless hours to enhancing and reimagining FELC’s field trip experiences, consistently offering creative ideas that will sustain its educational mission well into the future. She gives far beyond what is expected, and her diligence and professionalism reflect the excellence of FELC’s work. Through her leadership, generosity, and tireless service, Deb truly embodies the spirit of partnership, stewardship, and dedication this award seeks to honor.
